WHERE DOES THE NAME LINWOOD COME FROM?
Our master carpenter/dad’s middle name is Linwood, but we call him Lin.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
Right outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in a town called Central. Yep, it’s as small as it sounds.
HOW WILL IT COME PACKAGED?
We wrap each piece tightly in layers of bubble wrap, tissue paper, and newspaper when needed. Each comes with care instructions, a sample cutting board oil, and a small, free surprise, which we trust you’ll keep secret for the rest of our customers.
WILL IT STAY SMOOTH AND SHINY?
The more you use your board, the more worn it will look with scratches. This is the nature of wood products and gives it more character. To find out how to care for your boards, click here.
CAN I SUGGEST A PRODUCT TO BE MADE CUSTOM?
The only custom pieces we do are what are listed in the shop section. We can’t guarantee that we’ll accept your project, but we always love to hear new ideas. Feel free to contact us to get the convo started.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY PIECE?
We’re way ahead of you and have that mapped out on our info page! Click here.
WHAT CURRENCIES DO YOU ACCEPT?
We currently only accept U.S. currency, but are always willing to work with anyone. Contact us for some good, old-fashioned haggling (just kidding…it’ll be more of us just trying to figure out how to make it work for you)!
WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept all major credit cards including American Express, MasterCard, and Visa, as well as PayPal. If you’d like to use a different form of payment, just contact us!
HOW DO I RETURN?
Returning it simple! Check out our Info page to learn more.
WHERE DO YOU SHIP?
We ship to most major countries around the world. We estimate the total of shipping based off of your location and weight of your order. We will always refund you the difference if the actual cost is less than what you paid. You can find more details on our Info page. If you don’t see your country, contact us and we can set up a shipping option just for you!
CAN I TRUST YOU?
Lin has never run for elected office, so “Yes!” Check our privacy policy and terms of use for more info.
I HAVE ALLERGIES, WHAT FINISH IS USED ON THE BOARD?
We finish the boards with a food safe, mineral based oil, so save the Benadryl for hay fever season.
HOW CAN I STAY INFORMED?
You can follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and/or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
HOW DO YOU DETERMINE YOUR PRICES?
We consider material costs, time to produce, overall general quality, and value. We try to stay competitive in our marketplace. Handmade means made to last, so you are paying for a one-of-a-kind piece.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?
Yes! We have gift cards starting at $25.00. They can be purchased here
CAN I USE YOUR IMAGES?
By all means! We ask that you credit us back and e-mail us a link to/description of your place of use. We love to see our images and products throughout the community. Pin ‘em, post ‘em, print ‘em and pass ‘em out!
TO WHOM AM I TALKING WHEN I CONTACT YOU?
That depends; it’s a family business, so the entire Babb family each has a hand in the process. If you contact lin@linwoodco.com you will mostly get either Mattie or Luke. Lin’s still working on his e-mail skills, but we talk to him about each one that comes through. If you contact by phone, you will speak directly to Lin. If you chat with us on social media, you will be speaking to Mattie or Luke.
DOES ONLY LIN MAKE THE PRODUCTS?
Yes! Lin currently is the only one touching the pieces from start to finish. The Babb women help with packaging and other small details, but Lin handcrafts every piece himself.
If a board is sold out, will it ever come back in stock?
By the beauty and truth of nature, our handcrafted cutting boards can never be replicated. If you know of a board you really like that is sold out, contact us and send us a photo, and we can try to make one as close to it as possible.
Is every piece one-of-a-kind?
Like a snowflake! Lin doesn't make patterns; that’s the beauty of handmade carvings. He will never be able to make the same thing twice, so each piece is as unique as you are.
